How To Generate a List of All Installed Programs and Windows Updates

Answer

To generate a list of all programs installed on a PC:
1) Open the Control Panel screen. This can be accessed from the Window start button in the lower left hand corner and then searching for Control Panel.

2) Select the Programs and Features icon. The Uninstall or change a program screen will appear. Items can be sorted alphabetically by clicking on the Name column. Its also helpful to select the Installed On column to sort programs by date of installation.

3) Multiple screen shots may be needed to capture the entire list of programs. Take care to ensure that the size of the text of the program name is not too small to read in the image created.

4) To generate a list of all installed Windows updates, navigate to the upper left-hand corner of the Uninstall or change a program screen and select View Installed Updates. The Uninstall an update screen will appear, and users can search for a specific Windows update or take a screen shot of the entire screen to create a list of updates.
