Answer

When installing the Analyst® Device Driver (ADD) with Analyst® software, the order of installation of the programs is important. The Analyst software must be installed first, and then ADD is installed next. If Analyst software is uninstalled, the ADD must be uninstalled as well before Analyst software can be reinstalled. After reinstalling ADD, the LC devices must be reconfigured and a new hardware profile will need to be built.

If Analyst is uninstalled and reinstalled without also removing ADD, then the previously created ADD acquisition methods will not function properly. Analyst software and ADD must both be uninstalled; then Analyst software can be installed, followed by ADD. Once the software is installed in the correct order, the ADD acquisition methods will work properly and normal LC/MS operations should resume.
