This is an introductory X500R QTOF mass spectrometry course designed for attendees who will be using SCIEX OS for small molecule quantitation (MRMHR) and/or small molecule screening workflows (IDA and SWATH). The course is divided between classroom-based lectures and hands-on laboratory work. The following topics will be covered: basic QTOF theory, overview of SCIEX X500R QTOF instrument technology, SCIEX OS orientation, instrument tuning and calibration, acquisition method creation (MRMHR, IDA, SWATH), data processing (including an introduction to library searching) and basic instrument maintenance. To complete this course and earn a certificate, you must complete a final exam at the end of the course. The exam consists of 20 questions and all content required for the exam is covered during the 3 days of training. A combination of instructor-led and hands-on approaches are used. The course covers basic topics including: LCMS theory, Analyst Software familiarization, instrument tuning and calibration, compound optimization, and quantitation. Specific topics for cannabis pesticide testing include sample preparation of cannabis products, basic chromatographic method development, analysis of cannabis matrices for pesticides, and troubleshooting. Upon completion of the course, you should be able to perform source and compound optimization, create Scheduled MRM™ acquisition methods, perform quantitation, troubleshoot and maintain your system. You should be able to transfer the principles and practices learned throughout the course and apply them to your specific workflow.To complete this course and earn a certificate, you must complete a final exam at the end of the course. The exam consists of 20 questions and all content required for the exam is covered during the 3 days of training.
