When a leak error is observed for a Shimadzu LC system but the channel is dry, it may be that the threshold for detecting a leak is set too low.  This setting may be changed by the following procedure:
  1. Push the VP button on the front panel of the device with the leak error, (e.g., a pump or a column oven).
  2. Press the function key to get to the Calibration menu.
  3. The password is 00000.
  4. Press the function key twice to get to the leak threshold.
  5. Change the value to a higher number.  A good default setting is 40000.
