Issue Description

A SCIEX OS software user encountered the following error while attempting to use a new project: "The current user does not have write access to the requested project."  The project folder was created in an existing SCIEX OS root directory on a processing PC.
Common project error

Resolution

The common-project-area folder in the SCIEX OS Data folder needs to be present in the root directory when creating a project. If it is missing, the above error message will appear. Previously created projects will not be affected, only  newly created projects. To resolve this issue, the missing common-project-area folder in the root directory needs to be replaced by copying over an intact root directory from another PC.

User-added image
If the SCIEX OS data folder needs to be restored after moving the software to a new PC, then backup the whole SCIEX OS data folder on the original PC, so that the common-project-area folder will also be included when copying over the SCIEX OS data folder to a new system.
