Answer

It is important to back up the compound library databases stored in LibraryView™ software, whether they are commercial or are custom libraries with compounds relevant to your workflows, so they are not lost or corrupted in the event of PC failure or errors during a software upgrade.

The easiest way to do create a back up of a compound library database is to open LibraryView software and export the library as a LibraryView package (lbp). This backup file can be saved on the local PC or on a network drive for safe keeping.

How often should this be done? Its recommended that the snapshot be created every time that new compounds are added to the data base and then again prior to upgrading LibraryView or Sciex OS software.
